I’m also a beginner and a little intimidated that my playing doesn’t sound “right” to my own ears. Do you think it would be fun to play blues or some of your favorite songs with minimal practice? Been a fan of the Amazing Grace story and the song for a long time. One question however; What do the underscores on the draw notes represent?
It may be a little advanced for the beginner but don’t give up hope and if you have a hard time with the dip bend draws, try playing them straight until you master them.P.S.

Thanks for the info and tips.Hey Tony, so happy to hear you enjoyed it….The underscores indicate holding a note or lengthening a note. I also only have an iPad and am disappointed I can’t download certain bonuses. One of the reasons I believe it has been so popular is that it is so recognizable by everyone.I, like you, have probably heard it done in as many different ways as there are artists out there.It doesn’t ever seem to get old, even though it dates back to the 18th century from Britain. Start on the bend sound…then quickly release it.

I have been playing sloppy free style off and on for years but your series of lessons got me on track.

"Amazing Grace" is a hymn written by English poet and clergyman John Newton. This version of Amazing Grace is my favorite to date. I guess that’s not surprising that you picked up the harp so quick with a voice like yours…Reminded me a bit of Eva Cassidy. I am just starting collecting a list of songs I can play and this was next on my list (my second; the first was Ode to Joy). jpi like the Baker version and tab and actually I don’t get iy like this – I mean Iwould like to see the holes and the notes; it looks like a computer code written like that..;)3d means 3 hole draw, 3b means 3 hole blow….try it out. Hope you put some more songs together for us musically challenged people.I am a beginner. If you have time you can see my performance here.
